13 reasons why you should take your dog on holiday with you
Thinking about taking your dog on holiday? There are plenty of reasons why you should. Don’t worry — we’re not going to get all sentimental and gushy on you. This blog is not sponsored by TripAdvisor or Booking.com, so there won’t be any advertisements either.
So, Alzu & I have been on a road trip across India since October last year. If you are wondering why I started this journey, here’s my detailed story. Dogs love traveling as much as humans do and it gives them a great opportunity to see new sights, interact with people, and strengthen the bond that you share together. There are lots of benefits to taking your dog with you on holiday, and not just because they provide excellent company and can help reduce the cost of your trip. If you’re still not convinced, here are 13 reasons why you should take your dog on holiday:
They are great companions while you travel.
Dogs are the perfect travel companions — they’re always up for an adventure and they love spending time with their humans. They’ll also help you meet new people while you’re on holiday as most dog owners are happy to stop and chat when they see you out and about with your pooch. After all, who doesn’t love a cute puppy?

It’s a fantastic opportunity for your dog to get some exercise.
If your dog is used to spending most of their time indoors, taking them on holiday is a great opportunity for them to get some exercise. Just make sure you research the area beforehand to ensure there are plenty of places where your dog can run around and explore.
You can use it as an opportunity to bond with your dog even more.
Pets provide us with companionship and love, so it only makes sense to include them in our holiday plans. Your dog will love all the new smells, sounds and sights on vacation. Dogs are social creatures and love being around people. A vacation is the perfect opportunity for them to meet new friends (both two-legged and four-legged).

You won’t have to worry about your dog when you travel alone
You’ll never have to worry about your dog getting homesick. Your pet will love spending time with you and will be by your side throughout the entire trip. You can bond with your furry friend while exploring new places together. Your dog can act as a natural alarm clock, so you’ll never oversleep again!
It’s a lot easier than leaving them at the kennel.
You can avoid leaving your dog in a kennel. If you’re worried about leaving your dog in a kennel while you go on holiday, taking them with you is the perfect solution. That way, you can rest assured knowing that your furry friend is safe and sound and having just as great a time as you are.
You’re likely to have more fun if you bring Bruno along.
Dogs are great at helping us relax and having fun. Studies have shown that petting a dog can lower our blood pressure and heart rate, and that playing with a dog can help reduce anxiety and improve our mood.
Dogs make excellent walking buddies. If you love exploring new places on foot, then taking your dog with you on holiday is a great idea. They’ll love the opportunity to stretch their legs and burn off some energy, and you’ll appreciate having a walking buddy to keep you company.
You can get some great photos. If you love taking photos, then taking your dog on holiday with you is a great idea. Dogs make great subjects, and they’re sure to make your holiday photos that much more special.

Dogs are not allowed in a lot of hotels, but they are allowed in most vacation rentals.
You can find pet-friendly accommodation and activities easily these days. Thanks to the rise in popularity of pets, it’s now easier than ever to find pet-friendly accommodation and activities when you’re on holiday. So there’s really no excuse not to take your furry friend with you. I will share a list of pet-friendly hotels I stayed at during my travels in the next blog post.

Dogs love travelling, it should be a no-brainer!!
Your dog will love it. Travelling is great for dogs — it broadens their horizons and helps them socialise with new people and other animals. They love car rides, new smells and being in different places. It’s also a great way to tire them out (which means they’ll be less likely to bark at the neighbours when you get home).
